SCRIPT & STORYBOARDS
From the conceptualization stage of the animation, I aimed to give the viewer a relatively complete understanding of Morphine Tartrate in 1 minute, through a combination of voiceover and visuals.
Simple, but efficient
VISUALS STYLE
An attempt was made to visually remind the viewer of the World War II medical system through color and type. The color palette has been chosen to be more calm and grey, with army green, beige and bright red being the most representative.
For the animation style, I used mostly 2D presentation and added it's liveliness through dynamic effects. And in the brain scene, I made an attempt to shape the 3D vision through 2D animation.
ANIMATION
In terms of animation, my main focus was on smooth transitions between graphics and scenes. How to include all the elements in 1 minute without making the graphics look cluttered was something I kept in mind during the animation process.
OUTCOME
The final video was showcased in class, and got positive feedbacks from peers.
Meanwhile, it was also presented as a case study to future DESN-350 students.
Emmett Fisher
You have such a good sense for leading the eye! Everything feels very intuitive and fitting. I really love all of the subtle movement you have going on. This feels like something I'd have seen in history class as an intro to war.
Samantha Hubbell
Wow this is so dynamic! The motion and transitions in this are great!
Nayoung Yoon
The transitions are all smooth and the whole illustration and the narration matches well and are easy to follow. It really works well with the whole theme of the explainer video, which makes the audience to understand your subject easily. Really love your work!
